Passion Project | The makers of BDJ planner launched its first event in Shangri-La Plaza

Reach for the stars with Freedom to Dream Summit at Shangri-La Plaza, the mall gave their guests a platform to discover or rediscover their own dreams as Viviamo! Inc., makers of the Belle de Jour Power Planner, spearheaded the first Freedom to Dream Summit at the Red Carpet with an exciting roster of speakers.

'7 Out of 10 Filipinos Do Not Have a Dream: A Study The Dream Project PH', a non-stock and non-profit organization, conducted a survey among teenagers across the country. According to the study, 7 out of 10 Filipinos do not have a dream in life. The reasons for this include discouraging words from others and lack of self-esteem, passion, and opportunities, and poverty.

Is it any wonder why many Filipinos don't know who they are and what they should do next? Darlyn Ty - Nilo, president of Viviamo and creator of Belle de Jour Power Planner, hopes to change this. "We want to take action," she shares, "by creating positive conversations on dreaming." Through this initiative, Darlyn and her team hope to make a lasting change among the Filipino youth by giving them the freedom to dream.

The summit kicked off with a talk on "Raising Self-Worth," reminding the participants that they were worthy of living their dreams. The session was led by Dr. Gia Sison, a mental health advocate and host of "G Talks" on CNN Philippines, Rezza Custodio Soriano, a life coach and "tranformologist," and Gretchen Ho, a sport and lifestyle news anchor.

The next session was all about “Igniting Your Passion,” inviting people to find their purpose and work hard to achieve it. This talk featured Prim Paypon, Filipino Dreamagineer and founder of The Dream Project PH, along with Aimee Hashim, lifestyle consultant and founder of LoveLuxe Trading Inc.

“Making it Happen,” a talk detailing how people could overcome any of life’s limitations and accomplish their goals against all odds, followed. Sherill Quintana, the multi-awarded entrepreneur behind Oryspa Spa Solutions Inc., led the session with Jessica Lopez, an artist and Maningning Miclat Art 2018 awardee.

Tying it all together were two keynote speakers known for their youth-oriented advocacies: Jose Villanueva, also known as singer-songwriter Quest, and Darlyn Ty-Nilo, president of Viviamo and creator of the Belle de Jour Power Planner.

In addition, a special advocacy expo and mini concert was set up to showcase the causes supported by Viviamo! Inc. 100% of the summit’s net proceeds is set to be handed over to charity organizations, extending the spirit of empowerment to female victims of rape and abuse, people living with HIV, students, and more.

The summit is co-presented by The After Six Club, ChinoyTV, and Braveworks. Major sponsors include Manulife, MyTown, UNILAB, and Wacoal. Minor sponsors include Ace Water Spa, Boocha Mama, Brownroots Creatives, BrowHaus, Celeteque, Curves, European Wellness, Fitness Gourmet, Frankie's New York Buffalo Wings, Jollibee, Qrated Crates, SM Parisian, Serenitea, Spaces, Strip Manila, StyleGenie,The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, The Farm at San Benito, The Red Crab Alimango House, Tokyo Finds, Witty Will Save the World Co., and Zenutrients. Take home lesson after the event:

Dreams are for free. Working on that dream has a price. It requires your time and discipline to reach for it. The dream will become your goal.

The speakers of the panel have something in common. They want the audience to dream again or add dreams to their growing Dream 101 list. As long as we are breathing, there is still hope. We are not too old or to young to pursue a dream. Let our failures teach us a lesson not to dwell on it and move forward.
