Beauty | The purple nail salon in Festival Mall

Tried rose red nail color. Done by Thess
Black print shirt designed by my friend, Cham
It's common to think that the busiest days for salons are weekends and holidays. This person and her companion just happen to have free time on the weekend. These southern peeps went to Festival Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa to pamper and have good food.

We went there as walk-in guests, the receptionist at the front desk greeted us with a smile. We've noticed the salon have limited seats left for us. We asked to reserve a slot after an hour or two since the travel drained us and we need to fill something on our tummies in my favorite authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. They accepted the request and left our contact details.

10 minutes before the schedule appointment. I've received a call from the receptionist phone reminding our slot. That is a great customer service.

We were accommodated smoothly. They have handful of nail caretakers. The salon is air-conditioned and a herb scent fills the room. They have comfort room inside. Ten nail beauty chairs and a sofa for the waiting guests. The combination of the colors of white and purple are soothing to my eyes. It's relaxing.

They have a wide range of colors of the following brands they cater: Zoya and Orly. For an artist in me, I like to have many shades to choose. They have gel nail polish, but requires additional fee for it.

To my surprise, the Nail It staff I chatted during the Dance Craze event, Lyn. She smiles a lot and we chatted a bit. She did my pedicure, she took my advice not to cut certain part of the nail or remove dead skin as I often get bleed in longer walks. She did what she could and made my toe nails pretty. Thess, did the manicure, she handles my hand with good care. She even grant my simple request to keep my hands on the clean warm water.

Nail It! Salon is located at 3rd Floor of Festival Mall (Pixie Forest area), Alabang, Muntinlupa.
I highly suggest to book an appointment.

Food | Fiery Style is NOW OPEN in Southwoods Mall

Hola! The best nachos in town is NOW OPEN in the Southwoods Mall, Biñan, Laguna! First, I would like to congratulate, the team of Fiery Style for their latest branch opening and it's a full house.

Fiery Style is located at the Ground Level, Garden Atrium (the garden at the center of the mall, where the mall activities usually held). Beside the Pancake House. Providing mall goers some options after work or when you're looking for new taste.
We were lucky to witness the store blessing. We pray for its success and beyond.
The servers greeted us with a smile upon entering the store. They gave us option on where we would like to dine. I'm with a big group of friends and since we're going to be a little noisy. We reserved the tables outside, if you think it will be hot, think again.

The green scenery made it cooler at the afternoon til night and gentle wind passes through the open-air passage of the mall. The outdoor lights and the store made it cozy for us to enjoy the food and keep the great talk with friends. The vibrant decorations, skull candies or Mexican skull art painted over the orange wall, earthy toned interior and smoothing music from the local live band, Sound Cake Band.

The Food and Drink

The servers took our orders with care and happily offered their best sellers to us to try. This is my second time to try Mexican cuisine, let's see if this will suit my taste.

photo from Summer of IandMyKid
Let's start with their best selling appetizer, the Fiery Nachos topped with assorted spicy flavors and sprinkle of cooked ground meat. Layered with greens, reds and yellows of thin crispy nachos with lines of dressing. This is good for 3 - 4 people.
With notes, Green - Burrito / Chimichanga, Orange - 16oz US RIB EYE STEAK, Yellow - Queso Grance Beef Burger and Pink - Fiery Nachos.
If you're a fan of burger and cheese, Queso Grande Beef Burger, it's their best seller. Slight toasted buns with sesame seeds on top. Thick grilled beef inside with melted cheese. Crunchy leaves of Lettuce. Side dish with Fries and Tomato sauce dip. Good for 1 person.

The main favorite item from the menu is this 16 oz US RIB EYE Steak, cooked in medium rare. It's mouthwatering for me and in one second I grabbed my fork to try it. It's juicy and flavorful. No more words to say, you'll just keep taking more bites.

For all the food presented on our table the drink we shared on our table is the Fresh Minty Green Mandarin Juice (pitcher), non-alcoholic drink that is good for 4 to 5 glass serving. It contrasts the all the food you indulged.

Over all, we admitted it was pricey but the amount of serving, the flavors, their service and the place is alright to create good memories with friends and family. Good place to take photos for your social media feeds.

Food | Revisiting the best ramen in the south

In celebration with my good friend for almost a decade, we head to one of my favorite authentic Japanese ramen place in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

How authentic this ramen is? the practices of preparing the broth, the pork meat, the noodles, the side dishes and toppings were being done in many branches world wide. It guarantees the taste of its home in Hakata, Japan which explains their regulars were Japanese and Japanophile (appreciator of  Japanese culture).

Read more info about Hakata Ikkousha Manila here:
http://www.katooga.ph/2018/03/dining-ikkousha-ramen-is-here-in-manila.html

The servers were friendly and attentive. When ordering your ramen, you have an option for the preferred texture for the noodles, the saltiness of the broth and toppings -green onions on top or separate. We picked normal texture for the noodles and normal for the saltiness.

First served to us is the Ikkousha's yummy gyoza, the all time favorite. The thick wrapper holds the stuffed pork meat with greens inside that is good with soy sauce. The red dot is half spicy and tolerable. It adds more flavor for the gyoza.

Ikkousha's Special Tonkotsu Ramen, is one of the favorite items in the menu. This is a must try if you've traveled far to reach Alabang. For fellow pinoys who are not fond of Japanese cuisine, the broth is from pork bones that is boiled for 48 hours or 2 days. Similar to our 'nilagang baboy'. Thin sliced pork meat,

The flavors of their food is similar taste up to my continuous visit to Hakata Ikkousha Manila in 2018, this coming March 3, 2019 will be their first anniversary. I can't wait to get back to celebrate with them.

What this store can offer:

Ramen
Gyoza
Karaage (fried chicken)
Rice bowls (they have adobo and sisig!)
Japanese beer
Local beer

The price is just right for their good service and the food.
